Who are we?
The Stanley Residents' Group volunteers work together to improve our local environment, to bring people together, and to help address local concerns or issues within Stanley, Wakefield, UK.
Making a difference in Stanley!
​We are a community of friendly, passionate people working together to improve our local area. Whether it's organising events, fundraising, or making positive changes, there's something for everyone to get involved in.
You can give as much or as little time as you like. Every contribution counts and you can even earn Citizen Coins to spend in Wakefield.

SRG Meetings
The Stanley Residents Group hold regular meetings to discuss and organise upcoming events as well as any matters arising within the Stanley area.
If you are interested in helping out in the SRG, then please feel free to come along to one of our meetings and discover what's going on. For security purposes, Minutes of Meetings are restricted to SRG members participating in the group.​​​​

​​Best in Show 2026 - Schedules and Classes now available
The Best in Show will take place along side the Annual Gala on 1st August 2026 from 12:00 to 16:00 at Stanley St' Peters Church Centre. Schedules and Classes have now been finalised and are available to view. To find out how to take part and more ,click on the Trophy or pick up a leaflet from Stanley Library.
Nordic Walking at Stanley Ferry
Walks are available every Tuesday evening starting at 18:15 prompt
Meet in the top Car Park of the Stanley Ferry Pub - WF3 4LT
Sessions run from April till September.
They are FREE with Nordic poles provided on the day.

​​Your Annual Gala 2026 - A date for your Diary
The date of the SRG Annual Gala and Best in Show has now been set as Saturday 1st August 2026 from 12:00 to 16:00 and will be held once more at Stanley St' Peters Church Centre. We have already started securing stalls and activity providers, both old and new, for the event. More details will be provided nearer the time.
If you wish to host a stall, then select our Stanley Gala Booking Form 2026 which can be downloaded, completed and returned via email to stanleyresidentsgroup@gmail.com.
​​The Annual Scarecrow Trail 2026 - The challenge is on!
The Annual Scarecrow Trail will take place from 22nd to 31st August 2026.
The quality of entries gets better every year, and your creativity is always a delight to see.

Stanley Heritage Trail - Easter Egg Hunt - ANSWERS
The Stanley Heritage Trail - Easter Egg Hunt took place from Mon 30th Mar to Fri 10th Apr. We hope everyone who participated had fun and discovered a little bit more about Stanley's great history. For those who didn't make to the prize giveaway on Sat 11th Apr, click on the yellow and purple spotted egg to see the answers.​
