Hanging Baskets
Unfortunately we will not be having any hanging baskets in 2026.
Our supplier has decided to close and we thank them very much for our wonderful baskets over the years.
We have looked at alternatives, but at this time there are very few options and problems to navigate such as maintenance and watering of the baskets, not to mention the cost of licencing the lampposts again in 2027 at a cost of £100 each (we have 50 to have tested)
A meeting was held recently where the group discussed the various options open to us and the majority vote was to not go ahead this year. This was not an easy decision.
We will be watching how other areas get on this year and will start looking at other options after this year's gala.

Many of our existing individual/family sponsors use the basket as an opportunity to remember loved ones, whilst local businesses use them to advertise their name - and get a mention on our Facebook page and in the Sponsor list below. The baskets are generally on display from June through to the end of September (and often a little either side), so that's 122 days, fully maintained and watered. At a cost of £105.00 (reusable plaques a further £5 for new sponsors, first year only), that's 86p per day! A small price to pay for all the joy that they bring.😊
Historically hanging baskets were positioned throughout the village every summer, funded in part by sponsorship from local businesses and individuals, with the remainder being paid for through funds raised at the Gala.
