Stanley Crown Green Bowling Club

Your local opportunity for a little recreation and social gathering.  ​We are always looking for budding Bowlers wanting to play either socially or taking part in games against other teams in the area.

​Following the success of last years Open Day event, we held another one on Sunday 3rd May 2026.  

Unfortunately, the weather was not kind to us, but thank you to those who turned up!

 

Good News we are having another FREE Taster Session Open Day on Sunday 28th June 2026 11am - 3pm.  

 

If you can't make the taster session, you are always welcome to come along to a Tuesday practice session to find out more.  All ages 12 and upwards are welcome to join.

​​The season runs from the start of April till early September.

​We have 2 teams known as Stanley A and Stanley B.

 

Practice sessions are generally run on Tuesday mid afternoon and evening subject to weather.  Note that as a social bowler you can still use the green at any time when matches are not in play.

We play competitive games as follows:

Monday: 13:00 to 16:00 - Wakefield VETS (Over 60 only) - Both A & B Teams

Wednesday: 18:30 to 21:00 - Wakefield Workshops - Both A & B Teams

Thursday: 18:30 to 21:00 - Ossett & Horbury - Both A & B Teams

Saturday: 13:00 to 1600 - Saturday League - only 1 team so may be home or away​

To find out more about what games we are playing, when and where, please initially go direct to one of our Leagues at VETS - Workshops - Ossett & Horbury or Saturday. 

The League can then be saved for future access by choosing "User info" at the top left and then setting "My Bowlsnet" and  optionally selecting a team. 

Once Leagues have been selected and saved you can simply pick from these at the Bowlsnet website.

The Committee is made up of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Safeguarding Officer, a Bowlers Representative as well as all Team Captains.​​​
